Ruth Collett
After gaining a BA Hons in Technical Arts and Special Effects from Wimbledon School of Art in 2005, Ruth went on to sell her degree show piece to the Nelly Duff gallery in East London before going on to have a successful career as a hair puncher for the world-famous Madame Tussaud’s studios.
Ruth loves playing with scale and mediums with a particular passion for sculpting portraits of both humans and animals.
In 2018 one of Ruth’s pieces was selected by Grayson Perry for The Royal Academy's 250th Summer Exhibition where it hanged alongside David Hockney, Wolfgang Tillmans and Anish Kapoor.
Ruth explains: “It’s always been important to me that my art is accessible to everyone however they receive it. Whether that’s with laughter or an open discussion, all reactions are acceptable and welcomed.”
